Time to put up the Christmas Tree. I was thinking I either wanted to buy a few more ornaments or recycle or do my own. The ornaments I have, I have for a long time and I wanted something different or kind of pop to the tree.
I had some old Christmas balls I took apart. It’s easy to recycle or just DIY. I wanted to use whatever I had there, meaning materials.
I found Tiffany Blue tulle, Brown Feathers, Brown Leaf, Maroon Quilt Binding which by the way I purchase for 50 cents at the Fabric store and flowers.
I buy anything that is on sale or clearance and 75% off and keep it until I decide to do something with it.
All you need is a little imagination when creating any arts & crafts. I just wanted 4 different color balls for the Tree, something to make it pop.
I took the Tiffany Blue Tulle and wrapped around the foam, make sure you have enough tulle to go all the way to the to the top of the foam. I then clipped it on top, you can just wire or better yet, wire like stems of the flower when you cut it and bedazzled it a little, which by the way I love the way it looks. This is just adding on.
The Brown Feather ball was just as easy to make. I just started adding the feather from the bottom and work my way up to the top, then I just added on the spot that was showing the white of the foam. I added a handle, satin ribbon and Maroon flower to it.
My third ornament, is the leaf ornament again start from the bottom and work your way up to the top. Make sure to cover all the exposing foam. There is no right way of doing this.
With this ornament I took 2 different kind of tulle, one is a glittery time tulle, made a bow, a handle a for it and added a burgundy flower to it. These ornaments are simple to make. The green leaf you can purchase at a fabric store. There is no wrong or right way of doing it.
My last piece is a master piece. I took the guilt binding, open it up and wrapped around the foam piece by piece. You can take just about anything to make an ornament and again made a hook style to hang it on the Christmas tree, they also make great table ornaments.
These are just materials I have at home. You can make all sort of ornaments with what you have. You can even take your baby’s first blanket and make a ornament. This is just a great DIY with the children. Don’t over think it, your first choice is always the right choice.
