First thing first, when preparing or handling raw meat make sure to disinfect your counters. I also do a clean those counter, cabinets and back splash with bleach.
Second in my agenda, with the cost of food we have to learn how to shop wisely. I have this whole turkey which I chopped in half. Saved the backbone so I can make some broth and remove the meat for a salad. With the half of turkey I have for about four meals. I can do turkey salad to tostados. I also did other prepping. I finally the price of strawberries are going down. My local supermarket had the for 3 for $5 which is great. I chopped some up finely and added vanilla simple syrup and the rest I slice and placed them in Mason jars which preserves them we. I will do some preserves to jam with them.
Now let’s get to this delicious meal I did. I soaked the two pieces in water and vinegar and allowed them to sit for 20 minutes. After that I rinse them out and dry them up. I always likely drizzle them with olive or avocado oil. I do a mixture of dry rub.
1.Pepper and Garlic powder
2. Meat Tenderizer
3.Cilantro Flakes
4. Adobo.
5. Italian Seasoning
6, Paprika
7. Garlic Powder
I had just a little of garlic paste and added that also. I gave that turkey a good coat, with just with the rub the house was smelling delicious.
For the side I did broccoli, Tomato, Cucumber, Cilantro and jalapeño salad with freshly squeezed lemon juice and avocado oil. Avocado is a must in my house. I had some fermented cabbage, carrots, ginger, and onions. I had a small jar from the batch i did. I didn’t allow this small batch to sit because I was so delicious thatI had to eat it right away. Now I have one full to the top which I allow to sit. I started canning again because this world is so crazy you may never know what can happen. It’s difficult for me o store them, I live in a small Brooklyn apartment but what the heck lol.
